Installing Multiple Modules and Enhancements

Installing multiple Master Developer modules and

enhancements is generally done in the following way. It is

very important to open and close MAS 90 between each

enhancement or module installation. Installation is not

truly completed until MAS 90 has been opened and had an

opportunity to update its menus, incorporating the new

programs.

Installation Steps

Follow these installation steps for each ___ product:

1. Insert diskette #1 into drive A. Click the Run icon

on the Start Menu. Select A:\Setup and click OK.

You can also begin installation by using Windows

Explorer: on drive A, choose Setup.exe. Double-

click to run.

2. A System Check message box appears with the

following two options: “Yes, I would like to run the

System Check” (recommended) or “No, I would not

like to run the System Check.” Click OK.

3. Choose the drive that contains the MAS 90

directory to specify location for installation.

4. Choose the MAS 90 directory or the default. Click

OK.

5. A Directory Confirmation message box appears,

displaying the directory where your ___

enhancements will be installed. If not already

selected, highlight “Yes, the above installation path

is correct.” Click OK.

Note: If the installation path is not correct, select the option

“No, I want to change the installation path.” Enter new path.

6. INSTALL Message Box may reappear asking you

to Insert Disk #2. Insert into drive A and click OK.

7. A message box will appear confirming that your ___

enhancement has been installed successfully. You

will now be given the option of continued

installations. If your MAS 90 Library Master

version is older than 3.40, then you should NEVER

select “Yes.” (Versions of Library Master older than

3.40 sometimes have a problem with installing two

or more Master Developer enhancements in a row.

You should install only one enhancement, then go

into MAS 90 and let Library Master update its

records, then install the next enhancement. Please

decline the continued installation option by

selecting the “No” option and clicking on the OK

button.)

To install another ___ enhancement product, open MAS 90,

allow the previous enhancement to run, exit MAS 90, then

repeat the above steps.

It Bears Repeating – Another Reminder About

CUSTOM OFFICE

IMPORTANT CAUTION: If you have Custom Office

installed and if you have modified any MAS 90 screens, you

must run Customizer Update before you do an enhancement

installation.

BEFORE you run Customizer Update, it is very important

that you print all of your tab lists. Running Customizer

Update will clear all Tab settings; your printed tab list will

help you to reset your Tabs in Customizer Update.

You can be certain that Custom Office is installed on your

system if there is an asterisk next to the text in the title bar of

your active screen.

INTRODUCTION

Business-to-Consumer service software is essential for

consumers’ on-line purchasing access. The ___ Businessto-

Consumer Enhancement for the MAS 90

internet.access module allows Internet users to look at

your products and assemble a shopping cart without

requiring them to currently be listed in your customer

database. This functionality will broaden the scope of users

to include not only your current customers, but also any

potential customer who may desire to purchase your

products on-line.

Customers can access your web site and browse your

product list. They can select items and collect them in a

shopping cart. At checkout time, customers are required to

enter their name, address, e-mail address, and credit card

information. This grants each customer a permanent

customer number and Internet User ID. This information

establishes that customer in your MAS 90 customer

database. The information will be available the next time

they visit the web site.

This manual provides all the information necessary for

setting up and operating the Business-to-Consumer

enhancement for the internet.access module. However, you

are encouraged to contact Information Integration Group,

Inc. for assistance in setup of this product.

Key Features

Customer ID – If a customer is not already on file, a new

customer record will be created once they check out their

first Internet order.

Immediate Credit Card Validation – If integrating with

___’s Credit Card Processing Enhancement, credit cards

may be automatically pre-authorized for orders submitted

via the Internet.

E-mail Notification – A message can be sent to the

webmaster indicating that the customer has been converted

to a permanent customer. In addition, a message is sent to

the customer if pre-authorization of a credit card was

unsuccessful.

Payment Type Maintenance – This option allows you to

enter the types of credit cards that you accept.

GETTING STARTED

Prior to using the Business-to-Consumer enhancement to

expand your on-line store, you must enter a series of

options that allow this enhancement to be tailored to meet

your company’s specific needs.

Internet.access Setup

 Guest Number and Name

In order to allow customers to log on as “Guests”, you must

first set up a “GUEST” record in Accounts Receivable

(A/R) Customer Maintenance. From the A/R Main Menu,

select Customer Maintenance. The following screen will

appear:

Note: If you have ___’s Credit Card Enhancement

installed, the “Terms Code” for GUEST customer must be

set to “credit cards terms.”

When new customers make their first visit to your online

store, no permanent records or identifications exist for them

in your MAS 90 system. You must create a special

customer number that will be used by these new visitors to

until they check out.

In the Customer Number field, enter an ID that will be

recognizable as a “guest” user. Note: If you are using

multiple A/R divisions, then the Guest Customer should be

created in the same division where you want the new

permanent customers to be created. ___ recommends using

GUEST as the temporary customer number. In the

Customer Name field, enter a general name such as

GUEST WEB SITE USER. Since it will be seen by your

new web site visitors, it is important NOT to use a label

such as “Do Not Use” as the Customer Name. As guests

check out they will be assigned a permanent ID number and

will no longer be assigned to the temporary GUEST ID.
